Taulman Slide Collection

Collection consists of 366 35mm slides taken by photographers James Taulman (318 images), Jan Faul (29 images), and Robert Burgess (19 images) of buildings throughout the city. Tauman's images were taken as part of a project funded by Trammell Crow Company in Dalas Texas in 1980 to document recent commercial architecture across the country. Only the images documenting the District are included in this collection. The collection was assembled by the Library following its acquisition.

United Brick Company Photograph Collection

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of 85 4x6 inch and 3.5x5 inch color images of the abandoned United Brick Company buildings and kilns. The kilns are located on New York Avenue NE and are currently owned by the United States National Arboretum. All the images were taken around 1993 and show the vast vegetation overgrowth and dilapidation of the site.
