This collection comprises materials that are related to go-go music and go-go musicians, particularly artists whose music was distributed and promoted by Liaison Records. Materials include correspondence, fliers and promotional materials, ephemera, photographs, and periodical and newspaper clippings on go-go music, performers, events and culture.

Biographical / Historical

Becky Marcus is owner of Liaison Records, Inc., which promoted the music of Chuck Brown and many other go-go artists since its inception in 1989.

Custodial History

Becky Marcus donated this collection to the DC Public Library in September 2016. There is no Deed of Gift.

Processing Information

The collection was processed at the folder level by DCPL Librarian Kenneth Despertt from September 2021 through December 2021. Duplicates of some items were discarded. Oversized flyers of Rare Essence CD “Turn It Up” have been moved to the Go Go Music Artifical Collection's Flat Files.
