This collection consists of notes, clippings, research resources, correspondence, plat maps, and legal documents related to the citizens’ action group Don’t Tear It Down and the Homer Building (601 13th Street NW). Detailed results of research on the Homer Building are located in FF9 and FF10.

The collection consists of administrative records, meeting minutes, agendas, financial statements, management reports, correspondence, ephemera, and printed and audio/visual material related to the work and activities of Independent Living for the Handicapped and Belmont Independent Living between the years of 1982 and 2001. Scope and Contents From 2005 and 2007, Ingrid Drake coordinated the Ivy City Oral History Project, in collaboration with the youth of Ivy City Achievers. She interviewed and supervised interviews with residents of the Ivy City neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The papers include correspondence, meeting minutes, newsletters, reports, resolutions, and membership lists from the Federation of Citizens Associations, the Michigan Park Citizens Association, the National Gateway Citizens' Association, and the Northeast Council of Citizens’ Association. The papers also contain newspaper clippings and a photograph of Dr. Kane as a young man. The collection is arranged by Association or Organization name.
