Scope and Contents

The Arrington Dixon Papers Collection contains materials including campaign ephemera; correspondence; newspaper clippings and publications; photographs; pamphlets; and other documents related to Dixon’s political campaigns, work in city government (especially for the District of Columbia City Council), and personal life. The bulk of the collection covers 1953 to 1989.

Scope and Contents The collection was artificially created by the Library and consists of the Shaed and Baltimore family papers; as well materials regarding Elzie Hoffman. It includes photographs, programs, published books, biographies, letters, certificates, diaries, scrapbooks, clippings, and other family memorabilia. Content Description The collection contains items gathered and organized by Louise P. Latimer. The items relate to her professional activities as a librarian (1909-1948) at the District of Columbia Public Library.The first series includes five scrapbooks.
