Taulman Slide Collection

Scope and Contents

Collection consists of 366 35mm slides taken by photographers James Taulman (318 images), Jan Faul (29 images), and Robert Burgess (19 images) of buildings throughout the city. Tauman's images were taken as part of a project funded by Trammell Crow Company in Dalas Texas in 1980 to document recent commercial architecture across the country. Only the images documenting the District are included in this collection. The collection was assembled by the Library following its acquisition.

Thomas Sidney Jesup Receipts Scrap Book

Scope and Contents This unusual scrap book measures 11.5” x 16” and was made from an assortment of 1825 newspapers* that were hand sewn together along the front page horizontal folds. The top folded edges of each newspaper were then cut apart, creating individual pages upon which household business receipts were pasted. The collection consists of the research and writings about Theresa Trainor’s projects in the Southwest neighborhood completed as a part of her studies at American University.
