Biographical / Historical

Black in Space was a five day virtual experience that celebrated the diversity, resilience and artistry of Black LGBTQ+ communities through technology. Proceeds from ticket sales were distributed to the 100+ artists including ASL interpreters contributing to the experience. Ticket sales also funded the purchase of 500 face masks made by trans and queer owned small businesses, which will be donated to the D.C. Mutual Aid Network through Black Lives Matter D.C. and distributed to Washington, D.C. residents in wards 7 and 8. Black in Space was an all-gender-inclusive, trans-positive, anti-racist space. All of the experiences were zero proof/sober. All events were ASL interpreted.
