This collction includes born digital files from Black in Space: A Virtual Black Pride Experience that was held May 21 - 25, 2020. The inaugural journey was a five day virtual series of experiences that celebrated the diversity and resilience of Black LGBTQ+ communities through storytelling and technology.

Biographical / Historical
Makers Lab was started in April 2014 to build and support LGBTQ communites by creating zeor proof expereinces that celebrate life, art, and LGBTQ culture. They are a collective of creatives, catalysts, storytellers, and curators. Projects include Black in Space: A virtual Black Pride Experience, blknspace.tv: Futuristic TV for Black Qweirdos; Black Joy is Revolutionary: A Woolly Mammoth x Makers Lab Collab; and Respect Her Crank: A Go-Go Herstory Showcase. In 2020 this organization's name changed to Black in Space.
