Scope and Contents

The collection consists of 39 images (three proof sheets each containing nine images and three additional photographs). Additionally there are 39 negatives, however there is one negative without a corresponding print and one image without a negative.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of 86 packages of strip negatives. Some packages contained multiple negatives bringing the total number of strip negatives to 97. The strip negatives contain between one and seven images, with 372 total images in the collection. All images were taken by Mary Mitchell and are of locations throughout D.C. including the U.S. Capitol building, Chinatown, Dupont Circle, National Mall, and Lafayette Square. Scope and Contents The photo album contains 140 black and white prints and 59 negatives; the majority of the photographs are of noteworthy events and locations in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Although all photographs are undated, based on the style of clothing, model of automobiles and city landmarks, the images date from between circa 1925 and 1935.
