American Society of Music and Fine Arts Collection
The collection consists of a scrapbook containing clippings, meeting minutes, invitations, and event announcements.
Capitol Hill Symphony Society Collection
This collection consists of correspondence, memos, by-laws, photographs, programs, meeting minutes, and press releases related to the Capitol Hill Symphony Society. The majority of the materials were created in 1964, although the dates range from 1962 to 1965.
Capitol Rock Research Collection
Includes materials gathered for the writing of the First Edition of Capitol Rock, published in 1996. Materials include copies of newspaper and magazine articles as well as transcripts of interviews conducted by Mr. Opsasnick.
Choral Society of Washington Collection
The materials included in this collection are: clippings, bulletins, correspondence, programs, tickets, financial records, meeting minutes, and printed items. The “Book of Blanks” contains an example of each item printed by the Society (programs, tickets, form letters, etc.), the number ordered, and the cost to the Society. With the exception of one folder of the earliest meeting minutes, all materials are located in bound volumes. These bound volumes have been placed in acid-free boxes
Cynthia Connolly Collection
The collection contains flyers for musical performances and events, and general promotional flyers. Additional materials include correspondence, newspapers, zines, and other files Connolly accumulated while booking artists, and promoting events for the Washington, D.C. music and arts venue, d.c. space.
Verla Cook Scrapbooks Collection
Included in this scrapbook are programs and clippings relating to life in Washington, D.C. during the 1940s and 1950s. Also included in the scrapbook are matchbooks from local businesses and restaurants. Subjects covered in the scrapbook include, but are not limited to churches; concerts; Navy Band; restaurants; sesquicentennial of Washington, D.C.; White House, and remodeling.
John Davis Collection
The collection consists of materials from aspects of John Davis’s career in the punk, and indie rock scene in Washington, D.C., in the 1990s and 2000s. The majority of items were created by Davis, are about him, or are about bands he was involved with; the remainder are directly connected to the broader punk scene.
Charles B. Dulcan Collection
This collection contains clippings, photographs, correspondence, organizational information, and 78 RPM records related to Charles B. Dulcan and the Hecht Company.
Friday Morning Music Club Collection
The collection contains administrative records, music scores, performance history, and general memorabilia of the Composers’ Group of the Friday Morning Music Club.
Go-Go Museum and Café Collection
The Go-Go Museum & Café and partners collected 11 oral histories, produced two go-go concerts, and organized a major conference on go-go: “Go-Go Preservation Week 2021” in collaboration with the Traditional Arts DC project at Howard University. The Go-Go-Preservation Week panel discussions, concerts, and oral history collections.
