The four scrapbooks that make up this collection contain clippings, programs, and photographs documenting the successes and failures of the Metropolitan Police Department. Also included in these scrapbooks are clippings related to the King and Queen of England.

The Arrington Dixon Papers Collection contains materials including campaign ephemera; correspondence; newspaper clippings and publications; photographs; pamphlets; and other documents related to Dixon’s political campaigns, work in city government (especially for the District of Columbia City Council), and personal life. The bulk of the collection covers 1953 to 1989.

The collection contains correspondence, meeting minutes, committee reports, memoranda, legal papers, and general office files of Downtown Progress. Also included are photographs, sketches, maps, architectural drawings, street diagrams, and slides of buildings and streetscapes located in the downtown urban renewal area of Washington, D.C.

The collection consists of personal and professional correspondence, professional publications, clippings, genealogical and biographical information, memorabilia and family photographs. The materials are divided into four series: Professional Papers, Personal Papers, Photographs, and Ephemera.

Scope and Content Note This collection consists of 461 photographs and 913 negatives depicting residential and commercial properties located throughout Washington, DC from ca. 1987-1989. Many of the photographs are mounted on cardstock pages that list information about the property, such as its name, neighborhood, number of units (if applicable), owner, and cost. Content Description

Collection consists of one (1) photograph album containing 108 images. Some images have brief inscriptions as to their content, but many of the locations and people in the photos are unidentified. Subjects of the photographs include unidentified family members and friends of the creator, a trip to Colonial Beach, and boating on the Potomac River. There are several images of members of the DC National Guard and several of Cornell University.

The Go-Go Museum & Café and partners collected 11 oral histories, produced two go-go concerts, and organized a major conference on go-go: “Go-Go Preservation Week 2021” in collaboration with the Traditional Arts DC project at Howard University. The Go-Go-Preservation Week panel discussions, concerts, and oral history collections.

This collection contains undated photographs of floods in the D.C. area; photographs of the King of England’s visit to D.C. in 1939; inauguration parade, ball, and ceremony materials from 1953 and 1957; White House News Photographers Association programs from 1947-1957; and a handful of historic editions of the Washington Star.
