Originally housed in the Local Authors Collection in the Washingtoniana Division, the stories were moved to the Archives by the Library’s archivist in 1999.

Processing Procedure

Standard archival procedures were followed at the time of processing. The original order of the files when they were donated was kept, organized by grade and then alphabetically by last name of the child. Due to all the items in the collection being the children’s stories, there is only one series, stories, and then each story was stored in its own folder.
