Summary
This collection contains .txt files of IDs for around 1,000,000 tweets related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Washington, D.C. broken into sets of 250,000, and .csv files of the tweets themselves (embargoed indefinitely for in-house use). The tweets were collected via Twitter's API using Social Feed Manager. They were located via hashtag search; tweets collected therefore pre-date the date and time of the initial query. The unaltered collection can be viewed by on-site researchers only; to view from home, download the the dataset text files, open in Hydrator, and follow instructions to "rehydrate" them.

Conditions Governing Use
Distribution of complete tweet datasets is prohibited by Twitter's terms of service. A portion of this collection was generated when the tweet dataset was "dehydrated," a process which extracts only tweet IDs, which can be freely distributed. Rehydrated Twitter datasets can be used by remote researchers, but may not be distributed. DC Public Library accepts no responsibility for the distribution of rehydrated datasets.
