Scope and Contents

This collection contains correspondence, internal memorandum, proposals, publicity materials, legislative materials, meeting minutes, editorials, and membership lists. Most of these materials are related to Home Rule voting rights for D.C. residents from the 1930s through the 1960s. Organizations mentioned in this collection include the D.C. Suffrage Association, Committee of the 100, Citizens Conference on District Suffrage, and Young People’s Home Rule League.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of board meeting minutes, annual reports, treasurer reports, financial records, clippings, and photographs from the Club’s records. Records from the Women’s City Club of Washington, DC extend from 1924 through 1983. The collection contains by-laws, annual reports, monthly bulletins, programs, and yearbooks. Significant items in the collection are the twentieth anniversary yearbook and bulletin containing highlights, reminiscences, and the history of the club from 1919 through 1939.
