D.C. Oral History Collaborative (DCOHC) is a citywide initiative to train community members in oral history skills, fund new and ongoing oral history projects, connect volunteers with oral history projects, and publicize existing oral history collections. DCOHC is a project of DC Public Library, HumanitiesDC, and the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. This collection contains oral history interviews, transcripts, and indexes produced by DCOHC grantees.

Biographical / Historical

Virginia Strobach is a self-taught illustrator and prides herself in being a world-class art supply hoarder. She also has some very serious opinions on ice cream and french fries. She was featured in 2020 as one of the '20 Masters of Mindfulness' in District FRAY Magazine. She likes to remember this when actively on the verge of a nervous breakdown because someone is chewing loudly nearby. She is a master of mindfulness. Strobach has also been a featured illustrator published in Richmond Magazine, Everyday Birth Magazine, and B Side Collective. She says: 'Nuthin' like seeing your silly little pictures on paper!'. Amiga Hormiga is her bilingual print + stationery business based outside the Washington, D.C area. Several of her prints and illustrations depict famous places in D.C. and Virginia.
