Abstract
The 2021 Go-Go Preservation Week conference “conversation and crank” series delivered information to the Go-Go community on taking music and culture to the next level in the future, as well as how to protect their intellectual and financial assets. The conference recognized several legends of Go-Go. The Go-Go Museum & Café facilitated the procurement of Official City Proclamations from Mayor Muriel Bowser to celebrate their past inductions to the Go-Go Hall of Fame. Among honorees in a ceremony at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library included: Members from Rare Essence, Trouble Funk and Big Tony, Buggs and Junk Yard, Sweet Cherie and Boogie from Be’la Dona and Pleazure Band, Lil Chris TOB, SugarBear and Junie from EU.
