Abstract
This letter, written and circulated by Gary Young, encourages members of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 689 to vote to allow clerical and custodial workers to become shop stewards and to join the union's executive committee. This letter dovetails with Sandra Perrin's recollections of support she received in winning greater recognition for WMATA's clerical workers (positions largely staffed by women) within the union.
