The scrapbooks consist primarily of clippings that highlight Mr. Taliaferro’s activities while he was Commissioner of the District from 1926-1930. The scrapbooks also contain programs, letters, tickets, invitations, and other memorabilia regarding Herbert Hoover’s inauguration in 1929; original signed letters from President Hoover, Taliaferro, local D.C. officials, and citizen groups; and a number of programs and typewritten remarks/speeches of Mr. Taliaferro from social, political, and civic events in which he participated.
