Content Description

Three 8mm reels of film containing vacation films of DC and digitized surrogates of them created by the National Musueum of African American History and Culture at Home Movie Day, October 2017. Two of the films are part one and two of trip to DC, circa 1962 (the original film boxes are stamped Oct 10 (Wash I) and 19 (Wash II), 1962. The third film was labeled "Vacation 1964". The sites on the films largely consist of buildings and memorials around the National Mall, as well as Arlington National Cemetary. The 1962 film notably shows the Smithsonian's "rocket row" display of missiles at the Arts and Industries building.
